About

Dr Todd Walkow of Walkow Orthodontics is a staple of the Newport Beach Orthodontist community and prides himself on being the best orthodontist in Newport Beach and Orange County.

Dr. Walkow graduated with honors from the orthodontic residency program at Harvard University. While at Harvard, he received his Master Of Science in Epidemiology from the Public Health School. Dr Walkow subsequently received his dental degree from Tufts University in 1996. While a student at Tufts, he served as class president for four consecutive terms and at graduation, Dr Walkow had the honor of delivering the class address and was awarded certificates of merit from the American College of Dentists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the Robert R Andrews Honor Society and the American Academy of Orofacial Pain.

Dr Walkow takes and active role in meeting and exceeding the standards of the orthodontist profession by volunteering on the Cleft Lip/Palate and Craniofacial Team at the Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), as well as teaching at UCLA School of Dentistry. He Also Servres on the legislative and Technological committees of the California Associaton of Orthodontists and maintains active membership in the American Association of Orthodontists, The California Dental Social, and the Orange County Dental Society.

Dr. Walkow is strongly committed to his community where he is on the board of Trustees of Harbor Day School, The Board of Directors for the Big Brothers/Sisters of Orange County, and a member of the Development Committee o the Childrens Dental Center in Inglewood

Todd is a native of Southern California. He attended the University of California Irvine. Dr Walkow currently resides in Newport Beach with his wife Moujan and their three children, Lily, Nicholas and Ava.

The Reception Area

Our reception area provides an open and comofrtable atmosphere. During your visit, you will hear music provided by satellite radio played throughout our modern office. The reception area also offers the most current magazines and fresh Starbucks coffee. Upon arrival, you will be greated by one of our appointment coordinators.

Patient Check In & Media Room

Next to the front desk is our check-in computer. The easy to follow touch screen system alers our clinical staff that you have arrived for your appointment, so that we can serve you and your family in the timeliest way.

The special on-desck area is for our younger patients who are waiting to be seated in the clinical area. Comfortable seating, a 300 gallon aquarium, exciting artwork and video games (PS2 and GameCube) add another dimension to the orthodontic experience. This area is also an ideal place for siblings and friends to hang out, and of course, they are welcome.

On-site Lab

Our on-site lab allows us to provide our patients with same-day delivery of most orthodontic applicances. This allows our patients and their families to save valuable time that would otherwise have to be spent away from home, work or school. Additionally, this eliminates the possibility of shifting teeth while waiting on your applicances.

Sterialization

Our sterilization room hsa the most up-to-date equipment to enable us to uphold al OSHA standards. Dr. Walkow and his staff feel very strongly about infection control. All sterilization procedures meet both the American Dental Association and the OSHA guidelines. The sterilization units are regularly monitored by an outside service to ensure consistent sterility of all instrumentation.

Your First Visit

We look forward to meeting with you on your first visit to our office in Newport Beach. During this time, we we will help you get acquainted with our office and learn about your orthodontic treatment. We understand that each patient's orthodontic treatment is different, and we promise to give you the person attention you deserve. Your first orthodontic visit will consist of an examination and discussion of potential treatment options. This important visit will address your orthodontic needs to determine if this is the proper time to begin treatment.

After we have evaluated your records, we conduct a treament consultation to explain all aspects of your treatment in details. We will provide a complete clinical diagnosis regarding the nature of the problem, a written summary of the finsings ad a detailed plan that outlines your treatment, goals and estimated fees. We encourage questions from both the patient and the parent, as as such, we provide ample time to answer your questions.
